"For a few years now, some nights, often, when Athens is deserted, shops are closed and it's closed to midnight, I secretly amble up Patriarchou Loakim Street until I reach Fanourakis' brightly lit windows. There I stop in admiration. I have those seen, in the silence of the night

And at my leisure, all the designs they have created during the last ten years. The windows unfold before me like a theater stage; the jewellery reminds me of actor of yet unplayed dramas

and incites my spirit to unruliness. Participants and accomplices of future tragedies and comedies, of love and partings, of desire and despair, this jewels speak, and with their languages of glamour iridescence they seek for ideal fingers, ideal wrists and throats.

They are playful and emanate a sense of drama rarely found in the theater."
